Giant Bones by Peter S. Beagle-started 1-31-05; finished 2-2-05 Akira: Vol. 1 by Katsuhiro Otomo-started 2-2-05; finished 2-2-05 Changing Planes by Ursula K. LeGuin-started 2-3-05 made a little trip to the library yesterday. needed to get some reading material for this weekend since i'll be stuck at home. Giant Bones was wonderful! i'll have to read The Innkeeper's Song now. i like collections of short stories. most of the stories here are in first person, with the exception of "Lal and Soukyan." of the first person stories, my fav is the title tale, "Giant Bones," in which an impatient father is trying to tell the story of why the family grows tall to a child who's prone to interuptions and afraid of being the short one. it's cute! the father constantly states that it's this mother's job to tell stories and he doesn't see how she does it every night. 8^) Changing Planes is an amusing take on waiting at airports and interplanar travel. i'm enjoying it so far. |
